Sport v antickém Řecku a Římě

Abstract

Tato práce se bude zabývat sportem a fyzickými aktivitami starověkých Řeků a Římanů. Kromě vývoje sportování v obou těchto destinacích budou popsány jednotlivé druhy sportů a jejich průběh, typy sportovišť a jejich konkrétní příklady. Poté budou zmíněny nejvýznamnější festivaly a svátky řeckého i římského světa, při kterých se uskutečňovaly atletické a jezdecké soutěže. Pro podrobný popis disciplín a tělesného cvičení jsou důležité i výjevy na vázách, sochařské práce či reliéfy. Proto se práce bude okrajově dotýkat i jejich příkladů a charakteristiky. Na závěr se práce zaměří na celkové shrnutí a menší porovnání významu a úlohy sportu v řeckém světě a římském prostředí.

This bachelor thesis will examine the sports and physical activities of the ancient Greeks and Romans. The development of the sports will be described ,different types of sports, playingfields and arena's used, focusing on existing example. After that I will be mentioning the most important festivals and feasts of the Greek and Roman times, which would have taken place at the same time . Detailed description's of the disciplines and physical practises of the ancient Greeks and Romans are found on important scenes on the vases, sculptural works and reliefs of the time. Therefore this work will look at examples and characteristics of the era . At the conclusion this work will give a general summary and comparison of the importance and problem's associated with sport in the ancient Greek and Roman environment.
