Causa Memetika

Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the controversial topic of memetics. Memetics is rather new science which links sociology, biology and psychology together. The central aim of memetics is to explain the cultural transfer, using the Darwinian concepts of evolution. The thesis is divided into three chapters. Each chapter deals with the different perspective of the memetic theory. The first chapter describes the theory itself and foundations of the theory, the second chapter describes problematic issues within the theory and finally, the third part describes the status of memetics on the scientific field. Bakalářská práce s názvem Causa Memetika se věnuje okrajovému společensko- vědnímu oboru, memetice. Memetika leží na pomezí antropologie, psychologie a biologie a analogií ke genetickým procesům se pokouší vysvětlit přenos kulturních informací a vývoj kultury s aplikací Darwinových konceptů evoluce. Práce není pouze shrnutím teoretického pozadí memetické teorie. Myšlenka memu je kontroverzní a vyvolává bouřlivé reakce ze strany odborné i laické veřejnosti. V textu nejsou popsány pouze poznatky a východiska memetiky. Kriticky jsou v něm rozebrána problematická místa memetické teorie a spornost její aplikace na různé složky lidské kultury. Část práce shrnuje, jak se memetika ustanovuje na poli vědy a jak k tomu přispěly její jednotlivé publikace.
