Evropské obranné společenství, 1950-1954. Evropa a vrchol studené války

Abstract

Hlavnm clem této diplomové práce je analyzovat vznik a vývoj Evropského obranného společenstv (EOS) mezi lety 1950-1954 a charakterizovat jeho roli v bezpečnostn politice západoevropských mocnost a Spojených států v době vrcholc studené války. Práce je rozdělena do několika část, jež tvoř tématicky uzavřené kapitoly. Úvodn kapitoly se zabývaj důsledky války v Koreji na úvahy o znovuvyzbrojen Spolkové republiky Německo a okolnostmi, jež vedly k vypracován tzv. Plevenova plánu. Následujc kapitoly sleduj jeho postupný vývoj v projekt Evropského obranného společenstv, který vyvrcholil podpisem smlouvy v Pařži 27. května 1952. Zbývajc kapitoly se zaměřuj na proces ratifikace smlouvy v jednotlivých účastnických státech a problémy které tento vývoj doprovázely. Přestože je důraz položen předevšm na vlastn evoluci plánované organizace, nejsou ve sledovaném obdob opomenuty ani vzájemné vztahy a měnc se zájmy klčových účastnků, společně se širšmi souvislostmi mezinárodnho a vnitropolitického vývoje.

The main objective of this thesis is to analyze the origin and evolution of the European Defence Community (EDC) between 1950-1954 and to characterize its role in the security policy of Western powers and the United States at the height of the Cold War. The thesis is divided into several parts, which are thematically closed chapter. Introductory chapters deal with the consequences of war in Korea on consideration of the rearmament of the Federal Republic of Germany and the circumstances that led to the evolvement of so-called Pleven plan. Subsequent chapters follow the gradual development of the European Defence Community project, which culminated in the signing of the Treaty in Paris 27th May 1952. The remaining chapters focus on the process of ratification of the treaty in various participating countries and the problems that accompanied this trend. Although accent is put primarily on its own evolution of the planned organization, neither the period nor relationships and changing interests of key participants together with the wider context of international and internal development are omitted.
