Historie, současnost a perspektivy rozvoje Šmidingerovy knihovny ve Strakonicích

Abstract

In presented work, the authoress tries to find an answer the question what is the role ad status of regional libraries in today's society. As the object of their study chose the library at South Bohemian town of Strakonice. This decision had the chance to examine a sufficiently representative body from selected point of view. Surveyed library has all needed attributes which this point of view calls. Long and interesting history. Attractive locating. Deep cohesion to region and to its development. The library has also built enough support, both from the perspective of the library, so in terms of organization. Very wide and varied range of services. Optimal size and composition of staffing. The library also has a set of clients that are geographically, educationally, and in terms of age stratification of normally structured. Besides the main Library Locations offering its services in several locations and operates an advanced network of local libraries in the region. The authoress describes in detail the organizational chart of the library and activities of each department. V předkládané práci se autorka snaží nalézt odpověď na otázku jaká je role a postavení regionálních knihoven v dnešní společnosti. Jako objekt svého zkoumání zvolila knihovnu v jihočeském městě Strakonice. Tento výběr jí přinesl možnost zkoumat z daného pohledu dostatečně reprezentativní subjekt. Zkoumaná knihovna má všechny atributy, které autorkou zvolený pohled vyžaduje: dlouhou a zajímavou historii, zajímavé umístění, hlubokou provázanost s regionem a s jeho vývojem, dostatečně vybudované zázemí, jak z pohledu knihovnického, tak po stránce organizační, velmi široké a pestré spektrum služeb, optimální rozsah a složení personálního obsazení. Knihovna má rovněž k dispozici soubor klientů, který je geograficky, vzdělanostně i z hlediska věkového rozvrstvení standardně strukturován. Kromě hlavního působiště nabízí knihovna své služby také v několika pobočkách a obsluhuje rozvinutou síť místních knihoven v regionu. Autorka podrobně popisuje organizační schéma knihovny a činnost jednotlivých oddělení. Kromě toho zahrnuje do své studie rovněž informace o projektech, které knihovna rozvíjí. Pro získání relevantních informací autorka provedla průzkum názorů a postojů klientů knihovny.
