My graduation thesis focuses on the architecture of the city Caslav during the first third of the twentieth century. This is an important time in history of building development. The focus is based on the local architecture of the forgotten Larks Skrivanek family, as well as other architects, that influenced bulidings in Caslav. Emphesis is placed on the historical background and the cultural impact of the architecture, which is a part of the design and developement of the city. The emphasis of these are based on a detailed study of historical sources and literature. The work is devided into two thematic periods. The first part covers the period from the end of the 19th century to the First World War. The second part deals with the period after the First World War. The main benefit is a catalogue of buildings, which shows the best chosen works of this period in the city. This thesis is primarily a first attempt to photographically map out the architecture of Caslav during this period and includes the broader circumstances of the former architectural production
