The theme of balancing the two spheres - public and private - is a key aspect in enforcement of gender equality. Setting conditions on the labour market and in the area of work-life balancing enfluence life strategies and professional choices of women and men. One of these possible strategies how to combine "work and family" might be a. part-time job. Therefore I aimed at women as employees working on part-time jobs and simultaneously caring for little children or aging parents. In the analytical part of my diploma theses I analyze three key areas which are motivations to part-time jobs, realization of part-time jobs and positives and negatives of part-time jobs. On the basis of personal experience of my respondents I found out reasons which lead to the choice of part-time jobs, how my respondents balance their duties in public and private sphere, how they find part-time jobs, what factors influence their decisions, how they realize part-time jobs and what positives and negatives my respondents find out when working part-time. I was also concerned how my respondents perceive their semi present in public and private sphere and how they solve the problem of child care and aging parents.
