Volby do Evropského parlamentu 2009

Abstract

The thesis aims to present and eventually apply the theory of second order election by analysing the 2009 European parliament election. There are five case studies included that intend to unveil whether the established theoretical premises are still valid or not. The thesis attempts to answer the question whether the tangible disrepancies among old and new members states still remain in place or wheter this divergence is being mitigated.

Cílem práce je představit a aplikovat teorii voleb druhého řádu na volby do Evropského parlamentu v roce 2009. Na pěti zvolených členských zemích práce nastíní, kde se teoretické premisy potvrzují a kde nikoliv. Hlavním záměrem práce je odhalit, zdali se stírají patrné rozdíly mezi novými a starými členskými státy z roku 2004 nebo zdali stále jisté diskrepance přetrvávají.
