Jiří Weil mezi Ruskem a Čechami

Abstract

Diplomová práce s názvem "Jiří Weil mezi Ruskem a Čechami" se zabývá tvorbou Jiřího Weila z hlediska jeho celoživotní provázanosti s Ruskem a ruskou sovětskou kulturou. Práce zkoumá oblast publicistické, časopisecké překladatelské a beletristické tvůrčí činnosti Jiřího Weila, což jsou sféry, v nichž se autorova spjatost s ruským prostředím projevila nejvíce, a všímá si také životních osudů tohoto spisovatele, souvisejících s Ruskem. Na základě analýzy daných oblastí v časovém rozmezí let 1920 - 1939 dospívá práce ke zhodnocení Weilova působení jakožto zprostředkovatele ruské (po)revoluční kultury v meziválečném Československu a popisuje také otisky, které Weilovo napojení na sovětské prostředí zanechalo v jeho beletristické tvorbě z tohoto období i v jeho biografii.

The thesis "Jiří Weil between Russia and Bohemia" deals with the artistic production of Jiří Weil from the perspective of his lifelong connection to Russia and the Russian soviet culture. This work examines the areas of Weil's work as a publicist, a periodical translator and a fiction writer, where the author's bond with the Russian environment is the most evident; it also takes interest in the parts of his biography that are in some way related to Russia. Based on an analysis of these topics between the years 1920 and 1939, this thesis reaches the conclusion that Weil's work mediated Russian (post)revolution culture to Czechoslovakia between the wars. It describes the ways in which Weil's connection to the soviet environment influenced his works of fiction from this time as well as its impact on his own life.
