The Bachelor Thesis "Resettlement of Germans from Polička's region between 1945-1947" maps the process of expulsion of the Sudeten-German population from the area of former Polička district after the Second World War. The author strives to describe the wider circumstances of the event commonly referred to as »resettlement«. Therefore the thesis includes the description of the security situation in the region and the activities of the District National Committee (Okresní národní výbor) in Polička in 1945. The author's effort focused on political and national development in the multinational Polička area with regard to those factors that affected the attitude of local people towards the Germans after 1945. The main contribution of the thesis is the description of the course and circumstances of the resettlement of more than 2000 Germans in July 1945. The author draws attention to the preparation of the resettlement by the Pardubice regional branch of the Settlement Office in Prague (Osídlovací úřad v Praze) and the transports that were set out from Polička region to the detention camps located in the districts of Havlíčkův Brod and Lanškroun. Considering the multinational character of the monitored area great attention was paid to the situation of mixed marriages.
