Výsledky ukázaly rozdílnou úspěšnost dětí v klasickém testu falešného přesvědčení ("Sally-Anne") a testu neočekávaného obsahu, přičemž diagram průchodu úlohami doložil, že jednotlivé testy...
Aim of this study is to investigate social cognition and theory of mind, combining ethological studies in non-human primates with a developmental perspective in children. The main objective of the thesis was to experimentally test and compare the cognitive strategies of adult male rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) and preschool children (aged 4-6 years) in tasks focused on testing various aspects of the theory of mind. In the first part of the thesis focusing on non-human primate cognition, the macaques successfully passed several pre-training phases in the first task (object permanence and delayed object permanence). However, in the third phase, when the macaques were required to interact with a social partner (either a conspecific or a human experimenter), they could not be trained to the level necessary to perform the final test. The high demand of social interaction in this task aligns with the finding that the macaques were unable to undergo testing in cooperative tasks due to the strict hierarchy within the dyad. In the second part of the thesis, focusing on preschool children, a battery of tasks varying in difficulty and the aspects of social cognition they targeted was employed. The results showed differing success rates among children in the classical false belief test ("Sally-Anne") and...
