Augustina a Sigmunda Freuda" Autorka: Mgr. et Mgr. Ivanna Dovhoruk Katedra filosofie a religionistiky Evangelická teologická fakulta, Univerzita Karlova v Praze Předložená dizertační práce se zabývá konceptuální analýzou pojmu libida v díle sv. Augustina (354-430) a Sigmunda Freuda (1856-1939).
Doctoral Dissertation: "The Concept of Libido in the Thought of St. Augustine and Sigmund Freud" Author: Mgr. et Mgr. Ivanna Dovhoruk Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies Protestant Theological Faculty, Charles University in Prague This dissertation provides a conceptual analysis of the notion of libido in the works of St. Augustine (354-430) and Sigmund Freud (1856-1939). The thesis aims to support the hypothesis that the concept of sexual libido in Augustine and Freud is congruent focusing on two defining characteristics: perversion and the restriction of perversion, both on the individual and social levels. The thesis demonstrates that for both thinkers, the restriction of the perversion of sexual libido at the individual level is a necessary prerequisite for the establishment of social bonds. Social bonding is, in this context, an expression of human nature: created, according to Augustine, and erotically drive-based, according to Freud. However, a closer reading of Augustine and Freud also reveals that the conceptual determinant of social bonds is not the restriction of the sexual libido, but rather equality among people. While equality constitutes the definitive aspect of social bonding, the specific - perverse - structure of the libido, upon which social bonds are founded,...
