Práce vychází z teoretických rámců antropolo- gie rituálu, sociální performativity a symbolické ekonomie daru a konkrétně se soustředí na rituální a performativní aspekty supry, zejména na roli tamady a význam přípitků jako ná- strojů verbální i symbolické komunikace. Empirická část vychází z etnografického terénního výzkumu realizovaného v roce 2025 v různých regionech Gruzie, zejména v Tbilisi, Kache- tii, Ozurgeti a Mcchetě. (in English) This master's thesis analyzes the Georgian supra as a complex social and symbolic pheno- menon that persists in contemporary Georgian society as a key mechanism of social cohesi-on. Drawing on the anthropology of ritual, theories of social performativity, and the symbo-lic economy of the gift, the study focuses on the ritual and performative dimensions of the supra, especially the role of the tamada and the significance of toasts as instruments of ver-bal and symbolic communication. The empirical part is based on multi-sited ethnographic fieldwork conducted in 2025 across several regions of Georgia (Tbilisi, Kakheti, Ozurgeti, and Mtskheta), which included participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and ana-lysis of audio- visual recordings. The observed supras vary by context, ranging from intimate neighborhood celebrations to tourist-oriented staged versions. The thesis also examines how supra traditions are being transformed in present-day Georgia through the interplay of past and present, local and global contexts, and authenticity and commercialization. Keywords Georgia - supra - tamada - ritual - toast - feast - social cohesion - identity - tradition - so-cial change - performativity - cultural anthropology
