S využitím historických pramenů z archivů a regionální historie studie kontextualizuje význam filmové kultury v regionu ve vztahu k širšímu globálnímu vývoji kinematografie a její roli v politické propagandě v Československu.
This bachelor's thesis examines the history of cinemas and film culture in Liberec between 1945 and 1950. Utilizing the methodology of new cinema history, the study explores the role of cinema in post-war society, including the ethnic cleansing of Germans in the region and the rise of communist ideology. Drawing on historical sources from archives and regional history, the thesis contextualizes the significance of film culture in the region in relation to broader global developments in cinema and its role in political propaganda in Czechoslovakia. Based on historical documents, the study concludes that cinema played a key role in enforcing the new social orders after World War II. Overall, this thesis contributes to current research in regional history and the methods of new cinema history, emphasizing the importance of local history and the history of film distribution for understanding complex social changes after the end of World War II.
