(anglicky) This bachelor's thesis examines the use of gender signs in contemporary written German from a sociolinguistic perspective. The aim of the thesis is to demonstrate that current linguistic practices, such as the use of the asterisk (*), are often in conflict with official orthographic norms. The empirical part is designed as a case study analyzing the discursive conflict between Theater Plauen-Zwickau and the local AfD parliamentary group. The research adopts a qualitative approach based on the analysis of newspaper articles and online sources documenting this specific dispute. The theoretical framework is grounded in Language Management Theory (LMT), which is used to systematically describe the processes of noting and evaluating linguistic problems. Furthermore, the thesis sheds light on the actions of various discourse participants in relation to the language used by different actors, their respective interests, and the strategies employed to implement or reject gender inclusive language. The study focuses in particular on the clash of interests among these actors, represented by artistic freedom, inclusive language, and politically motivated demands for linguistic restrictions, which give rise to tensions in situations of conflict.
