This bachelor's thesis examines the role of linguistic tools and strategies in the marketing communication of independent music artists in the Czech Republic. Through qualitative content and discourse analysis of Instagram and Spotify content combined with seven in-depth interviews, it investigates how artists apply specific linguistic registers, slang, and emojis to construct their personal brand. Furthermore, it focuses on the functional role of English and code-switching in genre positioning, as well as the alignment between artists' declared communicative intentions and their actual social media practice. The aim of the thesis is to clarify how language contributes to negotiating the boundary between authenticity and stylization, and based on the findings, to formulate recommendations for effective linguistic practice in the independent music sector.
