Carcassonne: Inns and Cathedrals and Traders and B|artificial intelligence|monte carlo|expectimax|neural networkPráce se zabývá návrhem agentů umělé inteligence pro počítačové hráče deskove hry Carcassonne. Byly implementovány čtyři přístupy k výběru tahů: Greedy, Expectimax, Monte Carlo Tree Search a neuronová síť. Jejich výkonnost byla porovnána ve vzájem- ných turnajích, v nichž nejlepších výsledků dosáhl agent MCTS. Součástí práce je také hra vytvořená v Unity a herní jádro v jazyce C#. Jádro zajišťuje správu herního stavu, kontrolu pravidel, bodování a simulaci tahů. Součástí řešení je rovněž aplikace vytvořená v herním enginu Unity, která umožňuje odehrát hru prostřednictvím grafického uživatel- ského rozhraní proti zvoleným počítačovým hráčům.
This thesis focuses on the design of artificial intelligence agents for computer players in the board game Carcassonne. Four approaches to move selection were implemented: Greedy, Expectimax, Monte Carlo Tree Search, and a neural network. Their performance was evaluated in head-to-head tournaments, in which the MCTS agent achieved the best results. The thesis also includes a Unity game application and a game core written in C#. The core manages the game state, validates rules, evaluates scoring, and supports move sim- ulation. The solution further includes an application developed in the Unity game en- gine, enabling users to play through a graphical user interface against selected computer- controlled players.
