Česko-polské vztahy 11. a 12. století pohledem soudobých kronikářů se zvláštním důrazem na kroniku Wincenty Kadłubka

Abstract

The submitted dissertation examines the reflection of Bohemian-Polish relations in the eleventh and twelfth centuries as represented in the medieval historiography of both countries. On the Bohemian side, the analysis focuses on Cosmas of Prague, the so-called Canon of Vyšehrad, the Monk of Sázava, the Annals of Hradiště-Opatovice, and the Chronicle of Vincentius. From the Polish milieu, the reflection of these relations is studied in the works of Gallus Anonymous and Master Vincentius Kadłubek. The dissertation aims to determine how these sources portray Bohemian-Polish relations, what their authors may have known beyond what they explicitly recorded, what narrative strategies they employed, and whether a stereotypical image of the neighbouring natio emerged within either the Bohemian or Polish historiographical tradition. Although previous scholarship has addressed the views of some of these sources on Bohemians, Poles, or their mutual relations, they have not yet been examined in such a comprehensive and systematic manner. Předkládaná disertační práce se zabývá reflexí česko-polských vztahů 11. a 12. století ve středověké historiografii obou zemí. Z pramenů české provenience byl analyzován pohled Kosmy, tzv. Kanovníka vyšehradského, Mnicha sázavského, Letopisů hradišťsko-opatovických a Letopisu Vincencia; z pramenů polské provenience byla tato reflexe zkoumána v dílech Galla Anonyma a mistra Vincentia Kadłubka. Cílem práce bylo zodpovědět otázku, jak tyto prameny reflektují česko-polské vztahy, jakými informace mohli jejich autoři disponovat nad rámec uvedených sdělení, jaké narativní strategie uplatňovali a zda v českém či polském historiografickém prostředí dochází ke vzniku stereotypního obrazu sousedního natio. Přestože dosavadní bádání věnovalo pozornost pohledu některých z uvedených pramenů na Čechy, Poláky či jejich vzájemné vztahy, takto komplexní analýza dosud provedena nebyla. Disertace ukázala, že všechna sledovaná díla disponovala o česko-polských vztazích podstatně hlubšími znalostmi, než jaké prezentují. Zároveň bylo doloženo, že mlčení o řadě událostí bylo výsledkem narativních strategií. V otázce formování stereotypního obrazu bylo prokázáno, že Kosmova výrazně negativní charakteristika Poláků nebyla dalšími českými kronikáři přejata.
