Abstract

Music and Musical Culture of the German-Speaking Milieu in the Czech Lands. 1520 - 1620 Abstract The aim of this dissertation is to contribute, both methodologically and through case studies, to the still under-explored topic of music and musical culture in the German-speaking milieu of the Czech lands. The first chapter discusses the current state of research and asks what factors have given rise both to the long-standing distorted view of the music of the German-speaking population in Bohemia and to the limited scholarly attention the topic has so far received. Building on the critique of national historiographical frameworks developed in the first chapter, the second chapter argues for the importance of studying music and musical culture in the German-speaking milieu and proposes an approach based on the investigation of regions and supra-regional areas defined by confessional, geographical, and political factors. The third chapter focuses on the musical culture of the Cheb region (Eger/Egerland). Hudba a hudební kultura německojazyčného prostředí v českých zemích. 1520 - 1620 Abstrakt Cílem této práce je metodologicky a prostřednictvím případových studií přispět k doposud málo probádanému tématu hudby a hudební kultury německojazyčného prostředí v českých zemích. V první kapitole pojednáváme o současném stavu poznání. Zde si klademe otázku, jaké příčiny vedly k dlouhotrvajícímu zkreslenému pohledu na hudbu německých Čech a nízké dosavadní probádanosti tématu. Druhá kapitola navazuje na problematizaci národních dějin učiněnou v první kapitole, obhajuje význam tématu hudby a hudební kultury v německojazyčném prostředí a navrhuje přístup skrze studium regionů či nadregionálních areálů definovaných konfesními, geografickými a politickými faktory. Třetí kapitola je zaměřena na hudební kulturu jednoho konkrétního regionu, Chebska. Prvním typem dochovaných a pojednávaných pramenů jsou hudební tisky dvou osobností, Johanna Hagia a Clemense Stephaniho, na nichž jsou sledovány jejich osobní vazby, volba mecenátu, topika paratextů a selekce hudebního repertoáru. Druhým typem pojednávaných pramenů jsou inventáře hudebnin z kostela sv. Mikuláše, které byly sepsány na počátku 17. století.
