Cílem výzkumu je zhodnotit, do jaké míry lze rozdíly v síle vybraných značek napříč zeměmi vysvětlit makro-kulturním kontextem a složením hodnotových tříd v populaci, a to v kontrastu s vnitřní identitou samotných značek. Empirická část kombinuje sekundární data z výzkumu European Social Survey (ESS, Round 11) a databázi Kantar BrandZ (N = 1487).
This master's thesis examines the relationship between the cultural values of European populations and brand strength (Brand Power) across national markets. It builds on the theoretical assumption of cultural sociology that consumer preferences and brand perceptions are not merely the result of individual choices but are conditioned by broader cultural and social structures. The aim of the research is to evaluate the extent to which cross-national differences in the strength of selected brands can be explained by the macro-cultural context and the composition of value classes within the population, in contrast to the internal identity of the brands themselves. The empirical part combines secondary data from the European Social Survey (ESS, Round 11) and the Kantar BrandZ database (N = 1,487). Using latent class analysis (LCA) and composite indices (based on S. Schwartz's theory), the cultural profiles of ten European countries are identified. These characteristics are subsequently tested in a pooled regression model against Brand Power metrics, while controlling for the influence of the brands' archetypal identities and the economic maturity of the countries (GDP). The results of the regression analysis do not support the assumption of strong cultural conditionality: no statistically significant...
