The aim of this thesis is to understand why some women who align with feminist values do not identify with feminism and how they interpret the concept of feminism itself. The theoretical part is based on the understanding of feminism as a socially constructed concept. It references Berger and Luckmann's theory of social constructivism and Goffman's theory of stigmatization. These approaches make it possible to understand feminism not only as an ideology, but also as a social identity shaped by society. The empirical part is based on qualitative research. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews with six women who support gender equality but do not identify as feminists. The data were subsequently analyzed using thematic analysis. The results show that the rejection of feminist identity is not primarily rooted in disagreement with its values. The main reasons are negative stereotypes and connotations associated with feminism across society. Feminism is often perceived as radical, aggressive or conflictual. Participant also expressed concerns about the reactions of others and the potential disruption of their social...
