Genderové aspekty znázornění vražd v českém mediálním prostoru

Abstract

This thesis will examine the issue of murder and how the Czech media cover this violent crime. Specifically, it will focus on the media portrayal of murders committed in the Czech Republic in 2024. What role do gender stereotypes, prejudices, and cultural context have in this? The aim of this thesis is to understand how female and male victims and perpetrators are portrayed, what differences exist in media coverage based on gender, and what consequences these differences have for the public's perception and understanding of the issue of violence. The theoretical part will focus on violence in the context of gender, in particular statistics in this area and gender stereotypes. It will also include a legal definition of the term "murder" and a typology of murders, and attention will be paid to the scholarly literature on media studies. The empirical part of the thesis will be based on media reports, applying the method of content analysis. Emphasis will be placed particularly on mapping recurring patterns that contribute to the formation of narratives about murders. Tato diplomová práce se bude věnovat problematice vražd a jak k tomuto násilnému trestnému činu přistupují česká média. Konkrétně se bude zaměřovat na mediální obraz vražd spáchaných na území České republiky v roce 2024. Jakou roli při tom hrají genderové stereotypy, předsudky a kulturní kontext? Cílem práce je porozumět, jakým způsobem jsou prezentovány ženské a mužské oběti a pachatelstvo, jaký je rozdíl v mediálním pokrytí podle genderu a jaké jsou důsledky těchto rozdílů pro vnímání a porozumění problematice násilí ze strany veřejnosti. Teoretická část se bude věnovat násilí v kontextu genderu, konkrétně zejména statistikám z této oblasti a genderovým stereotypům. Dále bude obsahovat právní vymezení pojmu vražda a typologii vražd a pozornost bude věnována také odborné literatuře týkající se mediálních studií. Empirická část práce bude vycházet z příspěvků v médiích, přičemž bude aplikována metoda obsahové analýzy.
