Mateřství žen s "postižením"

Abstract

This master's thesis examines the motherhood of women with physical disabilities as an ambivalent experience in which normative expectations, control, and questioning intersect with agency and possibilities for empowerment. The thesis draws on disability studies and feminist theories of motherhood, which make it possible to understand both disability and motherhood as socially constructed categories shaped by power relations, institutions, and cultural norms. The aim of the thesis is to capture how five women with disabilities experience and interpret their motherhood, and how gendered and ableist ideas about the body, normative motherhood, and maternal competence are reflected in these experiences. Methodologically, the thesis is grounded in the constructivist paradigm and feminist methodology. The research is based on five semi-structured interviews with mothers with physical disabilities, analysed using reflexive thematic analysis. Diplomová práce se zabývá mateřstvím žen s tělesným "postižením" jako ambivalentní zkušeností, ve které se prolínají normativní očekávání, kontrola, zpochybňování, ale také agentnost a možnosti posílení vlastní autonomie. Práce vychází z disability studies a feministických teorií mateřství, které umožňují chápat "postižení" i mateřství jako sociálně utvářené kategorie formované mocenskými vztahy, institucemi a kulturními normami. Cílem práce je zachytit, jak pět konkrétních žen s "postižením" prožívá a interpretuje své mateřství a jak se do těchto zkušeností promítají genderované a ableistické představy o těle, "správném" mateřství a mateřské kompetenci. Metodologicky je práce ukotvena v konstruktivistickém paradigmatu a feministické metodologii. Výzkum je založen na pěti polostrukturovaných rozhovorech s matkami s tělesným "postižením", které jsou analyzovány pomocí reflexivní tematické analýzy.
