Mediální obraz zranění sportovců: komparace sportovních a bulvárních médií

Abstract

The diploma thesis investigates injuries sustained by professional soccer and ice hockey players in the reports of four Czech news sites, divided into two sports news sites (Sport.cz and the sport section of Aktuálně.cz) and two tabloid sites (eXtra.cz and Expres.cz). In this field, athletes' injuries represent a minimally researched phenomenon, therefore associated with many specific attributes. These range from physical and psychological impact, through the communication of injuries, to their subsequent media presentation - that is the focus of the research project. The theoretical section of this thesis addresses accompanying phenomena and aspects of injuries, including chapters on framing, tabloidization, injury typology, and athletes' approaches, such as coping strategies. Additionally, this theoretical part outlines the relationship between sports, the media, and PR communication. The findings are then applied in the thesis's analytical section. Its primary objective is to compare different types of media and to identify variations in injury reporting based on media characteristics.

Diplomová práce pokrývá, jak čtyři české servery, rozdělené na dva sportovní (Sport.cz a sportovní redakce Aktuálně.cz) a dva bulvární (eXtra.cz a Expres.cz), referovaly o zraněních profesionálních fotbalistů a hokejistů. Zranění sportovců představují v tomto zaměření minimálně prozkoumaný fenomén, který se pojí s řadou specifik. Od fyzických a psychických dopadů, přes komunikaci zranění až po jejich následnou mediální prezentaci, které se věnuje tento výzkumný projekt. Doprovodnými jevy a aspekty zranění se zaobírá teoretická část, například v kapitolách o framingu, bulvarizaci, typologii zranění a přístupu sportovců včetně copingových strategií. Dále tento oddíl také vymezuje vztah mezi sportem, médii a PR komunikací. Poznatky jsou dále aplikovány v analytické části práce. Jejím hlavním cílem je jednotlivé typy médií porovnat a poukázat, jak se informování o zraněních na základě jejich charakteristik liší.
