Metodologický přínos práce spočívá v optimalizačním schématu s časově proměnlivými váhami, které využívají celou predikovanou kvantilovou distribuci k sestavení bodové predikce překonávající standardní benchmarky i běžné formy Quantile Regression Forest. This thesis develops a machine learning framework for inflation forecasting in the Czech Republic, with a particular focus on interpretability. A Quantile Regression Forest is constructed for the headline Consumer Price Index and all major subcomponents, enriching the growing literature on machine learn- ing in macroeconomics. The thesis contributes methodologically through an optimisation scheme with time-varying weights that exploits the full predictive distribution to form point forecasts, outperforming standard benchmarks and basic Quantile Regression Forest specifications. Moreover, the Shapley-value decomposition is employed to identify the economic drivers behind the model's predictions at each point in time. Its robustness is assessed by comparing it with a time-varying Ridge regression. The analysis reveals moderate, hetero- geneous cross-method agreement, primarily driven by the 2022 inflation surge.
