Obrazy Pietera Brueghela mladšího ze sbírky Národní galerie v Praze

Abstract

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the work of the Flemish painter Pieter Brueghel the Younger (1564/1566 Brussels - 1637/1638 Antwerp). The goal is primarily to present the works of this artist in the collections of the National Gallery in Prague, namely in the Šternberk and Schwarzenberg Palaces and in the depositories. The main attention is focused on the iconography of the works; the way of depicting landscape painting and the impact of rural life in Brueghel's paintings. The thesis will first briefly introduce the artist himself, his life and the development of his work in chronological order. The thesis will also include a comparison of selected motifs by his father, Pieter Brueghel the Elder, and Pieter Brueghel the Younger, with the goal of pointing out the continuity and differences between the two artists. Attention will be paid to the issue of repetition of compositions, the degree of originality and changes in artistic style. Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na tvorbu vlámského malíře Pietera Brueghela mladšího (1564/1566 Brusel - 1637/1638 Antverpy). Cílem je především představit díla tohoto umělce ve sbírkách Národní galerie v Praze a to ve Šternberském, Schwarzenberském paláci a v depozitářích. Hlavní pozornost se soustředí na ikonografii děl; způsobu zobrazení krajinomalby i postižení života venkovského obyvatelstva v Brueghelových obrazech. Práce nejprve stručně představí samotného umělce, jeho život a vývoj tvorby v chronologickém sledu. Práce rovněž zahrne srovnání vybraných motivů jeho otce, Pietera Bruegela staršího a Pietera Brueghela mladšího s cílem poukázat na kontinuitu i odlišnosti mezi oběma umělci. Pozornost bude věnována záležitosti opakování kompozic, míře originality a proměnám výtvarného stylu.
