Toxicitu tohoto prostředí zásadně umocňuje fungování algoritmu, jenž uživatelky dává do filter bubbles a mění vnímání ohledně problematiky a normalizuje restriktivní návyky.
This bachelor's thesis deals with the influence of the social media platform TikTok, with a focus on the specific phenomenon called SkinnyTok, and its impact on the body image of Generation Z women. The theoretical part situates the topic within the historical context of media representations of the female body and draws primarily on the concepts of the beauty myth by Naomi Wolf and the biopolitics of Michel Foucault. The main aim of the research is to explore how these young women perceive and reflect the content of SkinnyTok in relation to their own bodies. The analytical part is based on qualitative research, within which semi-structured interviews were conducted with five active users of the TikTok platform aged 18 to 28. The collected data were subsequently evaluated using thematic analysis, from which it follows that the communication partners feel under pressure due to SkinnyTok. The toxicity of this environment is significantly intensified by the functioning of the algorithm, which places users into filter bubbles and changes their perception of the issue and normalizes restrictive habits. The research further shows that adolescent users are much more vulnerable to this phenomenon and that the respondents approach their bodies as their own human capital and as a form of "currency," into...
