Hudební sampling jako projev intertextuality: recepce v on-line sféře

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis deals with musical sampling as a manifestation of intertextuality. The thesis includes an analysis of the reception of musical sampling in modern compositions that use it. Sampling is a common part of the contemporary music scene, and its reception represents a relevant field of research. The aim of the thesis is to determine whether there are differences in the way musical sampling is received and in the context in which users talk about it between the platforms YouTube and Reddit, and, if so, to what extent this difference is present. To achieve the aim, a quantitative content analysis of a sample of three hundred comments from Reddit and three hundred from YouTube was used. The results were statistically evaluated and presented using tables and graphs. The results show that responses to sampling in music differ on the individual platforms mainly in the category of recognition of sampling, identification of the original work, and identification of the author of the original work. In questions of originality, ethics, and law, no significant differences were found between the platforms. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá hudebním samplingem jako projevem intertextuality. Součástí práce je analýza recepce hudebního samplingu v moderních skladbách, které jej využívají. Sampling je běžnou součástí současné hudební scény a jeho recepce představuje relevantní výzkumnou oblast. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda se liší způsob recepce hudebního samplingu a kontext, ve kterém o něm uživatelé hovoří, mezi platformami YouTube a Reddit, a případně v jaké míře je tento rozdíl přítomen. Pro dosažení cíle byla zvolena kvantitativní obsahová analýza vzorku tří set komentářů z Redditu a tří set z YouTube. Výsledky byly statisticky vyhodnoceny a prezentovány pomocí tabulek a grafů. Výsledky ukazují, že se reakce na sampling v hudbě na jednotlivých platformách liší především v kategorii rozpoznání samplingu, uvedení původního díla a uvedení autora původního díla. V otázkách originality, etiky a práva nebyly mezi platformami zjištěny signifikantní rozdíly. Na základě zjištění lze doporučit komparativní výzkum recepce mezi skladbou, ze které sample pochází, a skladbou, která původní sample využívá a zasazuje jej do nového kontextu.
