Mezi přijetím a odporem: Analýza drag reprezentace v pořadech Chi chi na gauči a Tvoje tvář má známý hlas

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis presents a comparative analysis of drag representation in two Czech television programmes - the mainstream entertainment show Tvoje tvář má známý hlas (TV Nova) and the queer talk show Chi chi na gauči (Czech Television). The aim of the thesis is to identify the specific media strategies and semiotic codes through which both formats construct drag performativity, and to explain why a visually similar phenomenon provokes fundamentally different social responses. The theoretical framework draws on Judith Butler's concept of gender performativity, representation theory, semiotics, and queer studies. The analytical section employs semiotic analysis of selected episodes of both programmes, focusing on visual codes, verbal codes, and identity codes. The findings indicate that Tvoje tvář má známý hlas presents cross-gender imitation as a temporary, professional performance which, through rituals of masculinity affirmation and heteronormative humour, ultimately reinforces the traditional gender order. In contrast, Chi chi na gauči presents drag as an authentic element of queer identity and explicitly engages with the political and educational dimensions of drag culture. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá komparativní analýzou drag reprezentace ve dvou českých televizních pořadech - mainstreamové soutěžní show Tvoje tvář má známý hlas (TV Nova) a queer talk show Chi chi na gauči (Česká televize). Cílem práce je identifikovat konkrétní mediální strategie a sémiotické kódy, kterými oba formáty konstruují drag performativitu, a vysvětlit, proč vizuálně podobný fenomén vyvolává diametrálně odlišné společenské reakce. Teoretický rámec práce vychází z konceptu genderové performativity Judith Butler, teorie reprezentace, sémiotiky a queer studií. Analytická část využívá sémiotickou analýzu vybraných epizod obou pořadů, zaměřenou na vizuální kódy, verbální kódy a kódy identity. Výsledky analýzy ukazují, že Tvoje tvář má známý hlas prezentuje cross-gender imitaci jako dočasný, profesionální herecký výkon, který skrze rituály stvrzování maskulinity a heteronormativní humor v konečném důsledku upevňuje tradiční genderový řád. Naproti tomu Chi chi na gauči prezentuje drag jako autentickou součást queer identity a explicitně pracuje s politickým a vzdělávacím rozměrem drag kultury. Práce dochází k závěru, že majoritní společnost je ochotna tolerovat překračování genderových hranic pouze tehdy, pokud je interpretováno jako bezpečná a dočasná parodie bez subverzivního potenciálu.
