Estetická hodnota prírody vo filozofii Ronalda Hepburna

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis will examine two approaches to the aesthetic value of nature. The primary source will be the philosophy of Ronald William Hepburn, particularly his reflections on the nature and role of the natural aesthetic. The primary goal will be to clearly explain the reasons behind Hepburn's efforts to defend the relevance of the aesthetic value of nature, so that it does not fall into the category of so-called "utility values," whose worth is determined by their ability to satisfy human desires and needs. The thesis will focus on what constitutes the aesthetic value of nature, which lies beyond the utilitarian realm and in humanity's confrontation with the non- human. Hepburn speaks of "human enrichment" and "inner appropriation of the natural," yet these values transcend those of personal utility. They stem from an awareness and recognition of the otherness of nature. Hepburn's ideas will be elaborated upon in this paper through the works of some of his followers.

Bakalárska práca sa bude zaoberať dvomi spôsobmi uvažovania o estetickej hodnote prírody. Hlavným zdrojom bude filozofia Ronalda Williama Hepburna, predovšetkým jeho úvahy o povahe a role prírodného estetična. Základným cieľom bude prehľadne vyložiť dôvody Hepburnovej snahy obhájiť relevanciu estetickej hodnoty prírody, aby nezapadla medzi tzv. "úžitkové hodnoty", ktorých hodnota sa určuje na základe schopnosti uspokojiť ľudské túžby a potreby. Práca sa zameria na to, v čom spočíva estetická hodnota prírody, ktorá sa nachádza za polom utilitárneho, a v konfrontácii človeka s neľudským. Hepburn hovorí o "ľudskom obohatení" a "vnútornej apropriácii prírodného", no tieto hodnoty presahujú hodnoty osobného úžitku. Vychádzajú z uvedomenia si a uznania inakosti prírody. Hepburnove myšlienky budú v práci rozvedené prostredníctvom niektorých textov jeho nasledovníčok a nasledovníkov.
