Můj život s osobní asistencí: série textů o osobních asistentkách a asistentech lidí s postižením

Abstract

This practical bachelor's thesis examines the personal assistance service. The aim of the thesis is to sensitively convey the personal assistants' views on their profession to readers through a series of texts. The series, titled My Life with Personal Assistance, consists of six interviews and one reportage. The interviews were conducted not only with personal assistants but also with their clients and one informal caregiver. The reportage highlights one aspect of personal assistants' work: accompanying clients around town. The texts reveal the respondents' diverse attitudes toward their profession, addressing both the meaningfulness of their work and its underappreciation in society. This bachelor's thesis seeks not only to illustrate the reality of personal assistance, informal caregivers, and people with disabilities, but also to highlight the unsustainability of the current care system in the Czech Republic. It highlights its problematic aspects, such as the overburdening of staff and informal caregivers, as well as the state's insufficient financial support for people with disabilities.

Tato praktická bakalářská práce se zabývá službou osobní asistence. Cílem bakalářské práce je čtenářstvu citlivě přiblížit prostřednictvím série textů pohled osobních asistentů a asistentek na svou profesi. Série s názvem Můj život s osobní asistencí obsahuje šest rozhovorů a jednu reportáž. Rozhovory byly vedeny nejen s osobními asistenty, ale i s jejich klientkou a klientem a s jednou neformální pečující. Reportáž představuje jeden z aspektů pracovní náplně osobních asistentek a asistentů, a to doprovázení klientstva po městě. Texty ukazují různé přístupy respondentů ke své profesi. Dotýkají se smysluplnosti práce ale i jejího nedocenění ve společnosti. Bakalářská práce se snaží nejenom ukázat realitu osobního asistentstva, neformálních pečujících a lidí s postižením, ale zároveň upozorňuje na neudržitelnost současně nastaveného systému péče v Česku. Ukazuje jeho problematické aspekty, jako je přetíženost pracovnictva a neformálních pečujících či nedostatečná finanční podpora lidí s postižením ze strany státu.
