Příležitosti a prohry. Občanské hnutí za humanizaci Severojižní magistrály

Abstract

This thesis examines the unsuccessful efforts to humanize the North-South Arterial Road, which were undertaken by a social movement between 1989 and 2026. It draws on the political opportunity structure theory. The aim of this thesis is to describe and interpret the causes of the movement's failure through the lens of the concept of opportunity structure. The first part of the thesis presents its theoretical foundation. It explains the meaning of the term "humanization," the history of the North-South Arterial Road, the origins of the movement under study, and the theoretical framework of the thesis. The second part is based on a series of twelve semi-structured interviews and reconstructs six political opportunities, which it then analyzes using the defined theoretical framework, focusing on the causes of the opportunities' demise.

Diplomová práce se zabývá nevydařenými snahami o humanizaci pražské Severojižní magistrály, které vyvíjelo občanské hnutí mezi lety 1989 a 2026. Vychází přitom z teorie struktury politických příležitostí. Cílem práce je popsat a interpretovat příčiny neúspěchu hnutí prizmatem konceptu struktury příležitostí. První část práce obsahuje teoretický základ. Přibližuje význam pojmu humanizace, historii Severojižní magistrály, původ zkoumaného hnutí a teoretický rámec práce. Druhá část stojí na sérii dvanácti polostrukturovaných rozhovorů a rekonstruuje šest politických příležitostí, které následně analyzuje za pomoci vymezeného teoretického rámce se zaměřením na příčiny zániku příležitosti.
