Mediálny priestor pod štátnou taktovkou: prípadová štúdia RTVS/STVR

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis examines the issue of public service media in Slovakia, tracing their historical development and evolving relationship with political power. Its main analytical focus is on the transformation of Radio and Television of Slovakia (RTVS) into Slovak Television and Radio (STVR) in 2024. The thesis examines the political, particularly legislative, context of public service media operations and situates them within the broader regional context of post-communist public media. Using the concepts of media capture and political parallelism, the thesis analyzes the mechanisms of potential political control and the undermining of editorial autonomy. Methodologically, the thesis is based on a content analysis of legislative documents, supplemented by a discursive analysis focused on the framing and implementation of the reform.

Bakalárska práca sa venuje problematike médií verejnej služby na Slovensku, sleduje ich historický vývoj a meniaci sa vzťah k politickej moci. Jej hlavné analytické jadro je zamerané na transformáciu Rozhlasu a televízie Slovenska (RTVS) na Slovenskú televíziu a rozhlas (STVR) v roku 2024. Práca sleduje politické, najmä legislatívne súvislosti fungovania médií služby verejnosti a zasadzuje ich do širšieho regionálneho kontextu fungovania postkomunistických verejnoprávnch médií. Pomocou konceptov mediálneho zajatia a politického paralelizmu práca analyzuje mechanizmy potenciálnej politickej kontroly a narušenia redakčnej autonómie. Metodologicky práca vyhádza z obsahovej analýzy legislatívnych dokumentov, ktorú dopĺňa diskurzívnou analýzou zameranou na spôsob rámovania a presadenia reformy.
