Pro zpracování byly využity primární zdroje z Muzea Horských Židů v Qubě, vlastní zúčastněné pozorování a příslušná sekundární literatura. Z výsledků práce vyplývá, že právě sovětizace nejvýrazněji zasáhla do fungování komunity a pozastavila její rozvoj, přičemž všechny vybrané aspekty zaznamenaly úpadek nebo byly výrazně omezeny. Mimo politických faktorů sehrála svou roli v proměně náboženských rituálů a společenské organizace i přirozená míra modernizace.
This bachelor's thesis examines the community of Mountain Jews in Azerbaijan and issues related to their identity during the 20th century. It specifically focuses on the Quba region and the Jewish village of Krasnaya Sloboda, which serves as the primary center of the community. The aim of the thesis is to map the fundamental aspects of Mountain Jewish identity, such as language, religious practice, education, and social structure. Particular emphasis is placed on the influence of Soviet nationality policy and the evolution of the Soviet authorities' approach toward this community. The research utilized primary sources from the Museum of Mountain Jews in Quba, the author's own participant observation, and relevant secondary literature. The results of the study show that Sovietization had the most significant impact on the functioning of the community and halted its development, with all selected aspects experiencing decline or severe restriction. In addition to political factors, a natural degree of modernization also played a role in the transformation of religious rituals and social organization.
