Jakub Zebedeův v Novém zákoně

Abstract

The aim of this thesis, entitled James, Son of Zebedee in the New Testament, is to provide a comprehensive account of what the New Testament texts reveal about this apostle. After an introductory section discussing the various names used for this !gure and his role within the New Testament writings, all the pericopes in which he appears are analyzed. Drawing on the two-source hypothesis, as well as literary and theological frameworks and depictions of the disciples in the individual texts, the thesis o"ers an exegesis of selected passages from the Synoptic Gospels. This is followed by an interpretation of the references found in the Acts of the Apostles and the Gospel of John. The four New Testament lists of apostles are examined separately. The main part of the thesis is further enriched by an overview of apocryphal texts that also mention James the Great. The work also includes three diagrams that illustrate the study of this !rst martyr among the Twelve, who, together with Peter and his brother John, was present at key events in Christ's life.

Cílem této práce nazvané Jakub Zebedeův v Novém zákoně je souhrnně popsat, co o tomto apoštolovi vypovídají texty Nového zákona. Po úvodním představení různých pojmenování této postavy a jejím vymezení v novozákonních textech jsou vyloženy všechny perikopy, které ji zmiňují. Na základě teorie dvou pramenů, studia literárních a teologických rámců a obrazů učedníků v jednotlivých textech je provedena exegeze úryvků synoptických evangelií. Po této částí následuje výklad zmínek ve Skutcích apoštolů a v evangeliu podle Jana. Zvlášť jsou pak analyzovány také čtyři seznamy apoštolů. Hlavní část práce je navíc rozšířena o přehled apokryfních textů, které postavu Jakuba většího rovněž zmiňují. Součástí práce jsou i tři schémata zpřístupňující studium tohoto prvního mučedníka ze skupiny Dvanácti, který byl spolu s Petrem a svým bratrem Janem přítomen klíčovým událostem Kristova života.
