This bachelor's thesis focuses on adaptations of snakes to aquatic enviroments, with a particular reference to marine snakes. It summarizes current knowledge of their morphological, physiological, and genetic adaptations that have enable them to successfully colonize aquatic, and especially marine, habitats. Special attention is given to the subfamilies Hydrophiinae and Laticaudinae, which represent different degrees od adaptation to life in the marine environment. The introductory section describes the systematics of marine snakes and their evolutionary origin, including independent transitions to aquatic enviroments across different snake lineages. This is followed by an overview of their geographic distribution and the types of habitats they occupy, with consideration of the relationship between ecological requirements and evolutionary history. The main part of the thesis addresses specific adaptations at the levels of morphology, physiology, genetics, and sensory perception of the environment. Behavioral aspects are also partially discussed within these contexts. The aim is to describe these adaptations and to demonstrate that they are interconnected across multiple levels and, collectively, have enabled snakes to colonize marine environments and become successfull predators. dc.description.abstractTato bakalářská práce se zabývá adaptacemi hadů na vodní prostředí, se zvláštním zřetelem na mořské hady. Práce shrnuje současné poznatky o jejich morfologických, fyziologických a genetických přizpůsobeních, díky kterým mohli úspěšně osídlit vodní a zejména mořské prostředí.
