Using case studies from Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan, I examine both regulation changes and sudden disruptions, highlighting the dynamics between institutional design, labor market structure, and individual resilience. In the first chapter, I study Vietnam's 2008 introduction of differentiated minimum wages, documenting short-term declines in formal employment but long-term increases in total employment driven by informal sector growth. In the second chapter, I analyze the 2012 unification of minimum wages for domestic and foreign firms, showing that the reform boosts foreign firm employment growth and has positive spillover effects for domestic firms in dis- tricts with higher intensity of foreign direct investment. Změny v regulaci a náhlé otřesy jsou předmětem bádání z hlediska jejich interakce s institucionálním nastavením, strukturou trhu práce a individuální odolností na základě případových studií z Vietnamu a Kyrgyzstánu. První kapitola se zaměřuje na analýzu zavedení diferencovaných minimálních mezd ve Viet- namu v roce 2008 a v souvislosti s tím dokumentuji krátkodobý pokles formální zaměst- nanosti, ale také dlouhodobý růst celkové zaměstnanosti, způsobený expanzí neformálního sektoru. Ve druhé kapitole rozebírám sjednocení minimálních mezd pro domácí a zahraniční firmy v roce 2012 a ukazuji, že tato reforma podpořila růst zaměstnanosti ve zahraničních fir- mách a měla pozitivní vedlejší účinky na domácí firmy v oblastech s...
