Lidskoprávní mezinárodní nevládní organizace a jejich participace na globálním vládnutí

Abstract

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá participací lidskoprávních mezinárodních nevládních organizací v rámci globálního vládnutí na příkladech Amnesty International a Human Rights Watch. Cílem práce je provést srovnávací analýzu činností těchto dvou organizací v OSN po získání konzultativního statusu u ECOSOC se zaměřením na to, jak institucionalizace ovlivňuje jejich schopnost podílet se na globálním vládnutí. Pro tento účel práce využívá kvalitativní komparativní studii, která umožňuje zhodnotit rozdíly a podobnosti v přístupu obou organizací. Teoretická část objasňuje koncepty globálního vládnutí a lidských práv, představuje mezinárodní nevládní organizace a možnosti jejich zapojení do OSN a vysvětluje principy neoliberálního institucionalismu, o který se práce opírá. Empirická část se soustředí na srovnání přístupu Amnesty International a Human Rights Watch k tvorbě a prosazování lidskoprávních standardů v OSN, a to na základě čtyř konkrétních mezinárodních aktivit, které obě organizace v tomto směru realizovaly. Ze zjištění vyplývá, že konzultativní status u ECOSOC poskytl oběma organizacím možnost zapojit se do tvorby a interpretace mezinárodních norem lidských práv. This thesis examines the role of international human rights non-governmental organizations in global governance, utilizing Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch as case studies. The thesis aims to conduct a comparative analysis of the activities of these two organizations in the UN after obtaining consultative status with ECOSOC, focusing on how institutionalization affects their ability to participate in global governance. For this purpose, the thesis employs a qualitative comparative study that enables an evaluation of the differences and similarities in the approaches of both organizations. The theoretical part clarifies the concepts of global governance and human rights, introduces international non-governmental organizations and the possibilities for their involvement in the UN, and explains the principles of neoliberal institutionalism on which the thesis is based. The empirical part focuses on comparing the approaches of Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch to the creation and enforcement of human rights standards within the UN, based on four specific international activities that both organizations have undertaken in this regard.
