Dobové kontexty a vývoj postav v románu Jana Eyrová

Abstract

In this bachelor thesis, the author examines Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre and the contemporary context of its creation. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part of the thesis focuses on description of the historical and social realities of the time when the novel Jane Eyre was written. The context of the interpretation of the novel is the situation of the society of nineteenth-century Great Britain, the class structure, the position of women in the society and also the position of England as a colonial power. The thesis refers about literary works that resonated in society particularly in relation to the position of women, but also touches on spiritual texts. The description of historical and social phenomena in nineteenth- century England is important because it is followed by a reflection of these facts in the text of the novel. The second part of the thesis concentrates on the textual analysis of the novel, which focuses on the dynamics and development of the relationships between the characters, particularly in relation to the title protagonist. The development of the relationship between man and God, the transformations this relationship undergoes and how the perception and acceptance of God's will changes over the course of the novel is the object of investigation. Práce se zaměřuje na dílo Jana Eyrová od Charlotty Brontëové a na dobové kontexty jeho vzniku. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. V první části je cílem práce popis historických a sociálních skutečností doby vzniku románu Jana Eyrová. Kontextem interpretace románu je situace společnosti ve Velké Británii v 19. století, třídní uspořádání, postavení žen ve společnosti a také pozice Anglie coby koloniální velmoci. Práce referuje o literárních dílech, která rezonovala ve společnosti zvláště ve spojitosti s postavením žen, ale také se dotýká textů duchovních. Popis historických a společenských jevů Anglie 19. století je důležitý, neboť na něj navazuje reflexe těchto skutečností v textu románu. V další části se práce se koncentruje na textovou analýzu románu, která je zaměřená na dynamiku a vývoj vztahů mezi postavami zejména v souvislosti s titulní protagonistkou. Předmětem zkoumání je vývoj poměru mezi člověkem a Bohem, jakými proměnami tento poměr prochází a jak se mění vnímání a přijímání boží vůle v průběhu románu. Dále se práce zaměřuje na projevy vztahů k Bohu, k ostatním osobám figurujícím v románu a ke společnosti jako celku prostřednictvím užitých intertextuálních vazeb.
