Abstract

4 Abstract This bachelor thesis focuses on the development of spiritual service within the Police of the Czech Republic. The introductory chapters address the theological foundations of service and the role of the Church as a serving institution, including its historical development. The thesis then presents the role of spiritual service in state institutions, especially within the Army of the Czech Republic and the Police of the Czech Republic. The main part of the thesis deals in detail with the origin, current state, and specific aspects of spiritual service in the Police of the Czech Republic. It also focuses on spiritual care in hospitals, international police experiences, and the potential future development of this service. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the current state of spiritual care in the Police of the Czech Republic and to outline its possible future direction.
