Abstract

The bachelor's thesis, "Prayer in the Letters of the Apostle Paul" focuses on the meaning of prayer in Paul's letters and its transformation in the context of his life and faith. The first chapter is devoted to Hellenism and Judaism at the turn of the century and examines what expactations people of that time had from their relationship to God and to prayer. The first part deals with the influence of Hellenistic religion on the formation of the apostle Paul. The second part focuses on the specifics of Jewish piety, which help to understand the religious environment in which the apostle Paul grew up. The last part deals with his conversion to the Christian faith. The second chapter focuses on entering Christianity and the path to salvation according to the apostle Paul. The third chapter analyzes the transformation of Paul's prayer after meeting Christ, into which the Holy Spirit enters. The apostle Paul emphasiyes the uniqueness of the ralationship with God, which is thanks to Jesus Christ - to thehe crucified and resurrected one - it acquires a person level and makes it possible to call God Father. The prayer thus turns into a friendly converation in with the Holy Spirit helps with his intercession. Bakalářská práce "Modlitba v listech Apoštola Pavla" se zaměřuje na význam modlitby v Pavlových listech a její proměnu v kontextu jeho života a víry. První kapitola se věnuje helénismu a judaismu na přelomu letopočtu a zkoumá, jaká očekávání tehdejší člověk měl od vztahu k Bohu a k modlitbě. První část se zabývá vlivem helenistického náboženství na formování apoštola Pavla. Druhá část je zaměřena specifika židovské zbožnosti, které pomáhají pochopit náboženské prostředí, v němž apoštol Pavel vyrůstal. Poslední část pojednává o jeho obrácení ke křesťanské víře. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na vstup do křesťanství a cestu ke spáse podle apoštola Pavla. Třetí kapitola analyzuje proměnu Pavlovy modlitby po setkání s Kristem, do níž vstupuje Duch svatý. Apoštol Pavel klade důraz na výjimečnost vztahu s Bohem, který díky Ježíši Kristu - ukřižovanému a vzkříšenému - získává osobní rovinu a umožňuje nazývat Boha Otcem. Modlitba se tak mění v přátelský rozhovor, ve kterém Duch svatý pomáhá svoji přímluvou. Apoštol Pavel ve svých listech zdůrazňuje díkůvzdání, které znal ze židovské tradice, a poté prosbu, nejen za sebe, ale i za druhé.
