Bachelor's thesis concentrates on the motif of extremity in the early short stories of Fráňa Šrámek. Drawing on Josef Vojvodík's concept of the "limit situation", it examines how psychological, existencial, and social tension is reflected in the construction of characters and style. The analysis focuses on three key characters: the woman-prostitute, the man-soldier, and the outcast. All are perceived as bearers of exclusion, pain, and inner decay. The thesis interprets Šrámek's short stories as an expression of generational turmoil and resistence to militarism, social emptiness, and moral decline.
