Komentovaný překlad: Des femmes d'exception au Moyen-âge (Brouquet, Sophie. Éditions Ouest-France, Édilarge SA. Rennes: 2020, s. 5, 17-27, 55-67.)

Abstract

This bachelor thesis presents the translation of selected chapters from the French book "Des femmes d'exception au moyen âge" written by Sophie Cassagnes-Brouquet. As a part of the thesis, 20 standard pages (1800 characters) of the book have been translated into Czech The chapters are the Introduction (pg. 5), the chapter about the Viking explorer Gudrid Thorbjarnardottir (pg. 17-27) and the chapter about Eleanor of Aquitaine (pg. 55-67). The book is about important woman in the Middle Ages, about their lives and about their influence on world history. The second part of the thesis is a commentary of the translation. The commentary presents a translator's analysis, a hypothetic commission, the methods of translation and shifts as well as concrete problems of translation. The aim of the thesis is to create a functionally equivalent translation, which meets the criteria of the hypothetical commission. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá překladem vybraných kapitol z francouzského originálu publikace "Des femmes d'exception au moyen âge" autorky Sophie Cassagnes-Brouquet. V rámci bakalářské práce bylo do češtiny přeloženo 20 normostran textu knihy. Konkrétně se jedná o úvod (str. 5), kapitolu o vikinské objevitelce Gudrid Thorbjarnardottir (str. 17-27) a kapitolu o Aliénor Akvitánské (str. 55-67). Kniha se zabývá významnými ženskými postavami z období středověku, jejich životními příběhy a vlivem na světové dějiny. Druhá část práce je komentář překladu. Komentář obsahuje překladatelskou analýzu, hypotetickou zakázku, metody překladu, posuny a řešení konkrétních překladatelských problémů.
