Well-being lektorů cizích jazyků

Abstract

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyse the area of well-being among foreign language lectors. The initial part focuses on defining the concept of well-being, its main theoretical foundations, and individual dimensions, with particular emphasis on the PERMA model. Subsequently, the profession of foreign language lectors is characterised in terms of its specific features, required competencies, and the work of language lectors in private language schools. The thesis further addresses the specifics of foreign language lectors' well-being, drawing on current academic studies. The qualitative inquiry in this thesis is conducted through semi-structured interviews. The research sample consists of ten foreign language lectors with a minimum of three years of experience, working in language schools associated with the Association of Language Schools in the Czech Republic. The aim of the empirical inquiry is to identify the key factors related to the performance of the foreign language lector profession that most significantly influence their well-being. Cílem bakalářské práce je analyzovat oblast well-beingu u lektorů cizích jazyků. Pozornost je nejprve věnována konceptu well-beingu, jeho definici, hlavním teoretickým východiskům a jednotlivým dimenzím, přičemž zvláštní důraz je kladen na model PERMA. Následně je charakterizována profese lektorů cizích jazyků z hlediska jejích specifik, požadovaných kompetencí a pracovního působení jazykových lektorů v soukromých jazykových školách. Dále je práce zaměřena na specifika well-beingu lektorů cizích jazyků opírající se o aktuální odborné studie. Kvalitativní šetření této práce je realizováno prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Výzkumný soubor tvoří deset lektorů cizích jazyků s minimálně tříletou praxí, kteří působí v jazykových školách sdružených v Asociaci jazykových škol v České republice. Cílem empirického šetření je identifikovat hlavní faktory spojené s výkonem profese lektorů cizích jazyků, které nejvíce ovlivňující jejich well-being.
