Vliv knížectví Sacuma na restauraci Meidži v letech 1873-1877

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to determine the extent in which the Satsuma domain contributed to the Meiji Restoration during the years 1873 to 1877. The first part of the thesis describes the historical context leading to the fragmentation of the new Japanese government, including the role Satsuma played in this process. The second part focuses on the Seikanron debate, which triggered the government's collapse and led to the resignation of several key Satsuma figures. Furthermore, the context and course of the punitive expedition to Taiwan are summarized, focusing on the fact that it was, to a significant extent, launched to appease discontented samurai from Satsuma. The final section outlines the consequences of these events, which manifested as armed conflicts against the new government, the last and largest of which started out in Satsuma. Cílem práce je zjistit, do jaké míry se knížectví Sacuma podílelo na restauraci Meidži v letech 1873 až 1877. V první části práce je popsán historický kontext vedoucí k rozpadu nové japonské vlády včetně role Sacumy na tomto procesu. Druhá část se věnuje debatě Seikanron, která způsobila rozpad vlády a zapříčinila odchod i klíčových sacumských osobností z vlády. Dále je souhrnně popsán kontext a průběh trestné výpravy na Tchaj-wan vypravené do značné míry za účelem uklidnění samurajů ze Sacumy. V poslední části jsou popsány následky těchto událostí, které se projevily jako ozbrojené střety proti nové vládě, z nichž poslední a největší vzniklo právě v Sacumě.
