Srovnání hlavních hrdinek románů Příběhy Chairea a Kallirhoy a Příhody Apollónia, krále Tyru

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis focuses on comparative analysis of the character Callirhoe from Chariton's novel Callirhoe with the characters of Apollonius's nameless wife and his daughter Tharsia from the novel Apollonius of Tyre. The first part outlines the historical context of women's status in the Hellenistic and Roman period, followed by the characteristic features of the ancient Greek novel and then introduces both analyzed works in detail. The second part focuses on analysing the individual protagonists, examining their character traits, social status, romantic relationships and other key aspects. The third part provides a comparative study of the heroines, identifying both their shared traits and differences. While Callirhoe's story is dominated by beauty and passionate love, Apollonius of Tyre emphasizes the importance of education for its female protagonists. Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na komparativní analýzu postavy Kallirrhoy z Charitónova románu Příběhy Chairea a Kallirrhoy s postavami bezejmenné Apollóniovy manželky a dcery Tharsie z románu Příhody Apollonia, krále Tyru. V první části je přiblížen historický kontext postavení žen v hellénismu a římské době, dále charakteristické rysy žánru řeckého milostně-dobrodružného románu a poté jsou blíže představeny oba analyzované romány. Ve druhé části se práce věnuje analýze jednotlivých protagonistek se zaměřením na jejich charakteristiku, postavení ve společnosti, milostné vztahy a další kategorie. Třetí část porovnává, co mají hrdinky společného a v čem se naopak liší. Zatímco Kallirrhoinu příběhu dominuje krása a vášnivá láska, Příhody Apollonia, krále Tyru se zaměřují na důležitost vzdělání svých protagonistek.
