Divadelní adaptace románu Bílá Voda

Abstract

The topic of this bachelor thesis is a stage adaptation of the historical novel Bílá Voda written by author Kateřina Tučková. The thesis focuses on two stage adaptations of this book, which were created almost simultaneously in 2024 - the first was performed at Městské divadlo Brno directed by Dodo Gombár and the second was presented at Národní divadlo directed by Michal Vajdička. The first chapter of the thesis adumbrates the theory of adaptation and dramatization, describes historical novel as a genre and maps the tradition of stage adaptation of popular historical novels. The second part focuses on the dramatization of the novel Bílá Voda as a process - in more detail, it examines the consecutions and methods chosen by both directors - but also as a product. The last part of the thesis is devoted to the stage realization of the adaptations and the overall result of both performances. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to explore both dramatizations of the novel as well as their subsequent stage adaptations and to describe the different dramaturgical-directorial approach to the same material and the overall result of the staged story. A partial aim is to explore a phenomenon that has been visible on Czech stages in recent years, namely adaptating of popular historical novels.

Tématem této bakalářské práce je divadelní adaptace historického románu Bílá Voda od autorky Kateřiny Tučkové. Práce se zabývá dvěma jevištními adaptacemi této knihy, které vznikly takřka současně roku 2024 - první byla uvedena v Městském divadle Brno v režii Dodo Gombára a druhou představilo pražské Národní divadlo v režii Michala Vajdičky. První kapitola práce nastiňuje teorii adaptace a dramatizace, popisuje historický román jako žánr a mapuje tradici divadelního adaptování populárních historických románů. Druhá část zkoumá dramatizaci románu Bílá Voda jakožto proces - podrobněji se tedy soustředí na postupy a metody, které oba autoři dramatizací zvolili - ale také jako produkt. Závěrečná část práce se věnuje jevištnímu provedení adaptací a celkovému vyznění obou ztvárnění. Cílem bakalářské práce je prozkoumat obě dramatizace románu i jejich následné jevištní adaptace a popsat rozdílné dramaturgicko-režijní uchopení téže látky i celkové vyznění inscenovaného příběhu. Dílčím cílem je přiblížit fenomén, který je na českých jevištích v posledních letech možné vidět, a to adaptování populárních historických románů.
