Vyjadřování nebinární genderové identity v češtině

Abstract

The thesis examines the expression and self-presentation of non-binary individuals in the Czech language, drawing on Judith Butler's theory of gender performativity with a focus on the interplay between language structure and gender expression. The theoretical part outlines the concept of gender performativity and explores its relevance in the context of the Czech language. It analyses the possibilities of gender-neutral self-presentation and investigates how the grammatical structure of the Czech language influences the expression and performance of non-binary gender identity. It also presents a summary of existing research on non-binary Czech. The empirical part of the thesis is based on semi-structured interviews with three non- binary individuals aged 20-25, each assigned a different gender at birth and are currently employing distinct linguistic strategies to express non-binarity. The aim of the thesis is to analyse specific strategies of expression and self-presentation used by non-binary speakers and to explore how non-binary gender identity is constructed in the Czech language.

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vyjadřováním a sebeprezentací nebinárních osob v českém jazyce, a to s využitím teorie genderové performativity Judith Butler, se zvláštním důrazem na jazykovou konstrukci a genderovou expresi. V teoretické části práce představuje teorii genderové performativity a její uplatnitelnost v kontextu českého jazyka, analyzuje možnosti genderově neutrální sebeprezentace a věnuje se otázce, jak gramatická struktura českého jazyka ovlivňuje vyjadřování a performanci genderové identity nebinárních osob. Součástí teoretické části je rovněž shrnutí dosavadního výzkumu v oblasti nebinární češtiny. V praktické části jsou teoretické poznatky ověřovány pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se třemi nebinárními osobami ve věku 20-25 let, které byly při narození přiřazeny k odlišným pohlavím a v současnosti využívají různé jazykové strategie pro vyjadřování nebinarity. Cílem práce je analyzovat konkrétní strategie jazykového vyjadřování a sebeprezentace nebinárních osob a zkoumat způsoby konstrukce nebinární genderové identity v českém jazyce.
