Lotyšský státní převrat z 15. na 16. května 1934

Abstract

This bachelor thesis aims to analyze the causes leading to, and consequences of, the Latvian coup d'etat from the 15th to 16th of May 1934, including the description of the coup itself. Analysis of the causes will be concerned with the crisis regarding the constitution and the role of personal ambition in the case of Kārlis Ulmanis. Description of the coup's course will present individual steps that led to the successful realization of the coup. The coup d'etat's results will be analyzed based on its medium-term impact - particular attention will be given to matters of the new regime's consolidation process and implementation of the new constitution. Cílem této bakalářské práce je předložit analýzu příčin a dopadů lotyšského státního převratu z 15. na 16. května 1934, přičemž nebude opomenut ani popis průběhu samotného převratu. Rozbor příčin bude zaměřen na problematiku ústavní krize a roli osobní motivace Kārlise Ulmanise. Popis průběhu vylíčí jednotlivé kroky, které vedly k úspěšné realizaci převratu. Dopady státního převratu budou zaměřeny na analýzu střednědobých dopadů převratu - zaměřeno zvláště na otázku konsolidace nového režimu a realizace nové ústavy.
