Abstract

The bachelor's thesis Annotated Translation: La civilisation des odeurs (Robert Muchembled, 2017, Paris, pp. 201-234) consists of two main parts. The first part presents the translation of a scholarly essay from the field of history, focusing on the cultural and social history of scents and odors during the 18th century. The second part offers a detailed translation analysis, addressing issues such as terminology, translation strategies, and selected translation procedures used in rendering the original text into Czech.
