Severokorejský jaderný program v mezinárodně politickém kontextu

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis explores the development of North Korea's nuclear program within an international political context. It examines the program's technological and historical evolution and, most importantly, the responses of the international community. The thesis outlines the legal framework for nuclear non-proliferation, including key agreements such as the NPT and CTBT, and evaluates the effectiveness of sanctions, diplomatic efforts, and the involvement of international institutions such as the IAEA and the UN Security Council. The main objective is to assess the success of past efforts to achieve denuclearization and to identify the recurring causes of their failure. Methodologically, the thesis is based on qualitative analysis of both primary and secondary sources and draws on theoretical concepts such as the nuclear order and deterrence. Given the limited attention this topic has received in Czech academic discourse, the thesis aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of nuclear proliferation and international diplomacy regarding North Korea.

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na vývoj severokorejského jaderného programu v mezinárodně politickém kontextu. Analyzuje technologický rozvoj programu KLDR, jeho historické souvislosti, a především reakce mezinárodního společenství. Práce popisuje právní rámec nešíření jaderných zbraní, včetně klíčových smluv jako NPT a CTBT, a hodnotí efektivitu sankcí, diplomatických snah a činnosti mezinárodních institucí, jako jsou MAAE nebo Rada bezpečnosti OSN. Cílem je posoudit, do jaké míry byly tyto snahy úspěšné, a identifikovat příčiny jejich opakovaného selhání. Metodologicky je práce založena na kvalitativní analýze primárních a sekundárních zdrojů a opírá se o teoretické koncepty jaderného řádu a odstrašení. Vzhledem k dosavadnímu omezenému zpracování tématu v českém akademickém prostředí představuje tato práce příspěvek k hlubšímu porozumění problematice šíření jaderných zbraní a diplomatického jednání s KLDR.
